I met Elizabeth Suarez a number of years ago, when I was employed by Entravision Communications Colorado (Spanish language television and radio network) and Elizabeth was heading up a children’s immunization media outreach campaign.

Through that experience, and the one that followed very recently, when Elizabeth worked on inclusiveness training with the board of the Colorado Consumer Health Initiative, I found her to be a consummate professional.

Elizabeth makes every member of her work group feel valued and important. She embodies the ideals of inclusiveness in the thoughtful way that she engages a group.

In the CCHI instance, Elizabeth spent considerable time learning about the organization, its strengths and its challenges. She proved her listening skills by incorporating the knowledge she had gathered in her board training, giving voice to all members of the organization.

She kept the inclusiveness project on task and on timeline, delivering a statement that represents the organization’s commitment to including the ideas and values of all members.
