Coaching
Before & After

Testimonial at beginning of Engagement:
I sought out Elizabeth’s assistance when I was at my 3rd company in 3 years. I found myself repeatedly in the wrong job in the wrong company and not sure how I got there or what to do about it.

With Elizabeth’s help I am learning how to make things work for me where I am and also planning what my future will hold.

Elizabeth is helping me figure out how to determine what company, job, people and environment is the right fit for me and also how to get that information during the interview process and not when it is too late!

I would recommend Elizabeth’s coaching program to anyone who finds themselves struggling with their current job and ESPECIALLY if you are in the process of looking for a new job!

Testimonial 6 Months After Coaching Began:
Thank you again for yesterday. I was thinking that not knowing how long I will have a job and needing to find another is a lot less scary and stressful having you coach me along. I think at times I feel like a deer in headlights and just feel so overwhelmed that I don’t know what to do next. So thank you keeping me in line.

Savvy

I initially retained Elizabeth to help me develop strategies to negotiate with my boss, but with her help was able to take a bigger-picture look at my employment situation. Elizabeth is a quick study, smart, funny, and savvy about employment situations—a true pleasure to work with. Since our initial consultation I have hired her on an ad hoc, as-needed basis, and I particularly appreciate her flexibility in this regard. I highly recommend her coaching services!

Helped Me Through

Elizabeth helped me through a situation that I recently faced. I’m a public speaker and agreed to speak to a group that I’d spoken at several times last year. The agreement was that I’d present a “follow-up” 90-minute seminar, based on the prior seminars and that we’d do them in the same way. For the prior seminars, the organization charged $35 for attendees. Imagine my surprise when I received a copy of their promotion of the new seminar and the cost was just $5! When I give this seminar myself, I charge $75 so I felt that they were not only devaluing both me and my work, they also were not meeting their side of the agreement. As I provide seminars for this group on a complimentary basis, I felt that it put me in a awkward position in expressing my concerns. My first reaction to the situation was to call them and cancel and my next reaction was to not say anything, do the seminar, then never offer again. Fortunately, I worked with Elizabeth prior to any communications with the organization. She told me that the best course of action was to communicate directly with the CEO, rather than the staff, and to simply say that as this was not what we agreed to, I would cancel the seminar. Elizabeth counseled me not to express anger, not to negotiate, not to do anything but stand firm – and it worked! The organization was very apologetic. We did cancel the first seminar, but the organization then rescheduled the seminar following our original agreement. The seminar was a success and we’ve already talked about more seminars. Elizabeth helped me to diffuse a potentially difficult situation in an easy, non-confrontational manner – and in the end, my relationship with the organization is even stronger. I highly recommend Elizabeth to all my business associates.
